With the company visit to Nooteboom Trailers we organized the last activity of 2015.

Bezoek Nooteboom

On Tuesday, November 17th it was time, we were allowed to visit Nooteboom Trailers BV in Wijchen. The number of registrations shows that this is an interesting company. The group was more than twice as large as the most visited company visit to date.

The reception was at 5 pm in the canteen with a drink. Due to an accident on the A50 it took a while before most of the participants were present, but when the official program started at 5:30 pm we were almost complete.

The event has opened with an introduction from Marinka Nooteboom, the 5th generation within this family business. She welcomed us warmly and briefly told us about the rich history of this family business that proudly bears the “Royal” designation.

We also had 2 interesting presentations. The first was from the Engineering Manager about the product portfolio and a few interesting innovative patented solutions developed within Nooteboom. The second presentation was about the implementation of Lean within the production and other departments of the company.

After the first part of the program, with another cup of soup and delicious sandwiches between the 2 achievements, we were distributed around the factory in 5 groups. Here you could see how the parts are produced and assembled into an end product. The warehouse was also impressive with all the parts that were available throughout Europe within 24 hours.

Finally, there was a networking drink. Here was also the opportunity to ask questions to the various employees of Nooteboom and of course also to network with each other.

Finally, we would naturally like to thank Nooteboom for making this visit possible. For all Alumni members who were not there, you really missed something!
