Report visit EcarACCU
Note; the post below has been translated with Google Translate.
On Friday May 9th 2025, the first company visit of the year took place, organised by Volante, to EcarACCU.
The weather cooperated and upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Nick Lommers (Manager New Business & Operations), Bas Wassenaar (Account Manager EcarPOWER) and Jelmer de Vries (director EcarHome). Lunch was already ready and was enjoyed outside in the sun, a perfect opportunity to network informally with each other. We were present with 18 people from Volante.

Presentation and introduction to EcarACCU
The presentation started at 13:00. Due to the many questions and interesting discussions, it ran longer than planned, a good sign of involvement. During the presentation, we were introduced to the background of EcarACCU. The company was founded in 2014 by Pieter Ursum and focuses on giving a second life to batteries from electric vehicles (EVs). Only parts such as steel, plastic and other metals are removed and recycled. All usable components from the battery packs are reused.

A concrete example of a practical application is the EcarPOWER 45 kVA – 50 kWh trailer, developed with Second-Life Batteries from EcarACCU. This and other energy solutions from EcarPOWER are not only sustainable, but also easy to use.
Company tour
After the presentation, we were given a tour of the company. We were able to see up close how the dismantling of batteries is done and how materials are reused. We were also given an explanation of the previously mentioned EcarPOWER 45 kVA – 50 kWh solution.
Closing and networking drinks
Finally, Sjoerd Kok and Remco Wonink expressed their gratitude to our hosts on behalf of Volante. The afternoon was concluded with a networking drink, in an open and friendly atmosphere. All in all, we look back on a particularly educational and pleasant afternoon.
