We are already at the 14th edition of the Volante Car Challenge, which we organize on Saturday April 5th.
Just like previous years, the Car Challenge in 2025 will again be a nice mix of driving on beautiful roads, tough challenges and of course the enthusiastic exchange of the well-being of this day, but also of admiring each other’s cars and the stories that go with them.
Hybrid
Just like the previous edition, this year a hybrid Car Challenge has been put together. The lovers of the more complex navigation work will get their money’s worth, while lovers of the better touring can choose the somewhat simpler variant and can fully enjoy the ride and the nature.
There are no performance tests.
In the registration form you can indicate which type of tour you opt for.
Scoring and prizes
The online scoring and points system that we used in previous years has been further optimized, but please keep in mind that you need to bring a smartphone or tablet with a permanent internet connection.
Participation
Each team consists of 2 people to enable an equal competition and to participate safely (and pleasantly). At least one person per team is a member of Volante. It goes without saying that the driver has a valid driver’s license.
Any vehicle is welcome, so if you can’t get your hands on a special car (or can’t get it going in time…) you can also use your daily driver. If you are unable to find a co-driver, please report this to us, because there are always enthusiasts who do not want to drive themselves but would like to participate.
The day program:
- 08.30h – Arrival of participants
- 09.30h – Welcome and briefing
- 10.00h – Start of team 1
- 16.00h – Latest arrival time
- 16.45h – Award ceremony
- 17.30h – Dinner (if there is enough interest)
The Volante Car Challenge
This year we are guests at Innovam in Nieuwegein, at the address Structuurbaan 2, 3439 MB Nieuwegein. Both the start and finish location are at this address.
Reception starts at 8:30 with a cup of coffee, tea and something tasty. At the reception, each team will receive a rally shield and a packed lunch.
We start with a briefing in which the ride and the rules of the game are explained for both variants of the Car Challenge. The rides will consist of a number of routes where driving is done using different map reading systems. For the digital scoring system, it is necessary that the navigator has a smartphone with a continuous internet connection.
After the briefing, each team will receive a route book and any control cards.
After Finish
Once the predetermined arrival time has passed, the jury will add up the scores and the awards ceremony will then take place. In the meantime, there is plenty of opportunity to have a snack and a drink and catch up with each other. Interested parties can register for a final dinner when registering.
Registration
It is possible to register for the Volante Car Challenge until March 15th. Registration is only possible for teams with at least one Volante member. The participation fee is €89.00 per team. This is an increase compared to previous editions, but unfortunately we can no longer avoid this due to all the increased costs.
We would like to see at least 50 teams at the start, so register today via the online application form!
Registration closing dinner
After the Car Challenge, there is an opportunity to strengthen the inner man.
We have arranged a Pizza and Pasta food truck for the meal, with an ice cream stand to finish.
The food truck serves, among other things:
Pizza slice: Margherita, tuna, salami, funghi, Hawaii, BBQ chicken
Penne and tagliatelle: Bolognese, carbonara, pesto with roasted pine nuts, fish sauce with prawns
Extra topping: Parmesan cheese, cherry tomato, rocket, tabasco. The meal will consist of a buffet with hot and cold dishes.
The arrangement costs, including drinks, €15.00 per person. We hope to be able to end the day with a large and pleasant group.

Organization
The Car Challenge is organized by the Volante activities committee, which needs the help of volunteers to make the day run smoothly.
