We are already in the 13th edition of the Volante Car Challenge, which we are organizing on Saturday, April 13.
Just like in previous years, the Car Challenge in 2024 will again be a nice mix of driving on beautiful roads, tough challenges and of course the enthusiastic exchange of the ups and downs of the day, but also of admiring each other’s cars and the stories. that belong to.
Hybrid
During the evaluation of the previous edition, it emerged that navigation and reading the route book were experienced as too complex for some. That is why we have put together a hybrid Car Challenge this year. Enthusiasts of more complex navigation will get their money’s worth, while enthusiasts of better touring can opt for the simpler variant and thus fully enjoy the ride and nature.
In addition, this year we offer the opportunity for a workshop, which you can attend physically or online, in which our organizer Paul Neeskens delves deeper into the various navigation techniques and assignments.
No performance tests are held.
In the registration form you can indicate which type of tour you are opting for and whether or not you want to participate in the navigation workshop.
Scoring and prizes
The online scoring and points system that we used last year has been further optimized, but keep in mind that you will need to bring a smartphone or tablet with a continuous internet connection.
Three prizes will be awarded per category, as well as an encouragement prize and a prize for the “Car of the day”.
Participation
Each team consists of 2 people to enable an equal competition and to participate safely (and pleasantly). At least one person per team is a member of Volante. It goes without saying that the driver has a valid driver’s license.
Any vehicle is welcome, so if you can’t get your hands on a special car (or can’t get it going in time…) you can also use your daily driver. If you are unable to find a co-driver, please report this to us, because there are always enthusiasts who do not want to drive themselves but would like to participate.
The day program:
- 08.30h – Arrival of participants
- 09.30h – Welcome and briefing
- 10.00h – Start of team 1
- 16.00h – Latest arrival time
- 16.45h – Award ceremony
- 17.30h – Dinner (if there is enough interest)
The Volante Car Challenge
This year we are guests at GINAF in Veenendaal, at De Smalle Zijde 4-6, 3903 LN Veenendaal. Both the start and finish locations are at this address.
The reception is from 8:30 am with a cup of coffee, tea and something tasty. At the start, each team receives a route book, rally shield, control cards and a packed lunch.
We start with a briefing in which the ride and the rules of the game become clear for both variants of the Car Challenge. The rides will consist of a number of routes that will be driven using different map reading systems. For the digital scoring system it is necessary that the navigator has a smartphone with a continuous internet connection.
After Finish
Once the predetermined arrival time has passed, the jury will add up the scores and the awards ceremony will then take place. In the meantime, there is plenty of opportunity to have a snack and a drink and catch up with each other. Interested parties can register for a final dinner when registering.
Registration
It is possible to register for the Volante Car Challenge until March 18th. Registration is only possible for teams with at least one Volante member.
We have kept the participation costs the same as last year and amount to €79.00 per team or €39.50 per person.
We would like to see at least 50 teams at the start, so register today via the online application form!
Registration closing dinner
After the Car Challenge there is an opportunity to strengthen the inner person. The food will consist of a buffet with hot and cold dishes.
The package costs €11.95 per person, including drinks. This year this amount includes a 50% discount in honor of Volante’s 15th anniversary. We hope to be able to end the day with a nice large group.

Organization
The Car Challenge is organized by the Volante activities committee, which needs the help of volunteers to make the day run smoothly.
